Why Xinhai Revolution Occurred 100 Years Ago This Month?
辛亥革命 100 周年

Human development can take many different paths; it may progress towards a more civilized society or revert to a state of savagery. There is no guaranteed route for a forward movement if the collective human effort is not put forth or is misplaced.

Here is a telling example which demonstrates how a highly elaborate civilization as exhibited during the eras of the Song and the Ming could rapidly degenerated to a hunting tribe's crude existence of barbarism.

The photos of China under Manchu's rule were originally taken by Western travelers of the time and widely posted on Chinese cyber space under the title Why I Love Manchu's Qing Dynasty with cynical captions added on by some online Chinese identities (more at 明朝吧, tianya.cn). Here we present further evidences to support their view.

Magnificent Traditional Chinese Costume

It was explicitly explained by China's history observers of the past that "无礼乐不成中国,无章服便无华夏" - without observing unique Chinese ritual, music, prose and costume, Chinese civilization will lose its essential media to convey the essence. To the Chinese today, donning on traditional Chinese costume for Confucius memorial ceremony is more than a fashion statement. It is also an act to evoke the spirit of authentic Chinese civilization that has been badly distorted by the thick headed Manchus with a culture based on shamanic fox-demon worship and willfully misinterprated by the blind followers of the Western religion and system.

A 700 Year Old Ming Temple

What's truly magnificent about this piece of heritage is its authenticity. Most pre-Manchu Qing buildings were renovated during the Qing era (1644-1911), and stamped more or less with Manchu's peculiarity, which is characterized by the extravagance in decoration, especially in colour, and the contraction in structural style, particularly when the size and shape of brackets and eaves are concerned. But this temple has been maintained so well by the locals since it was built thus no restoration was needed therefore it has stayed faithful to its authentic Chinese style

A Letter from Mao Zedong's Son

Mao Anying was born in 1922. At the age of 28 he went to the frontline in North Korea when America tried to bring the war to China's doorstep and subsequently fell on the battleground for defending nation's border security. (Ask Clitons, and Bushes, and Rumsfeld, and Cheney where their sons and daughters are when young Americans die in Iraq and in Afghanistan?)

A Summer Story in Chongqing

It is a land where the great benevolence is like water (上善若水) that is inclusive in distributing its benefit and is willing to flow to the lowest point where everyone tries to leave behind.
